Imam adalat ka kaam nipta kar hazir hue. Haroon ne ghuse mein poocha: "Aap ne Fazl ki shahadat kyun mustard kar di?" Imam Abu Yusuf kehne lage: "Ameer ul Momineen! Ek bar main ne suna, woh aap se keh raha tha mein aap ka ghulam hoon. Agar us ki baat suchi thi to qanoon ke mutabiq Aqa ke haq mein ghulam ki gawahi nahi manti jati aur agar jhootha tha to bhi us ki shahadat qubool nahi ki ja sakti. Kyunki jo shakhs aap ki majlis mein be baki se jhooth bolta hai woh meri majlis mein kaise baz reh sakta hai." Imam ke lahje mein sachai ki jurrat bhi hai aur tabligh ki naseehat bhi.
